Most people have never had a flooring contractor in their house before and are not sure what they are agreeing to. Nothing — this is a visit, not a commitment. Here is exactly how it goes.

1. We call or email you back within one business day. A real person, not an automated system, and we work out a time that suits you. Evenings and Saturdays are usually fine.

2. The visit takes 30 to 45 minutes. We measure every room in the scope, check what is under your current floor, and look at the things that change the price — subfloor condition, thresholds, stairs, how level the slab or joists are, and moisture if you are near the water.

4. You get a written quote before we leave, itemised by room and by line — materials, labour, removal and disposal of the old floor, and anything we flagged as a possible extra. No pressure to sign anything on the spot, and the price holds for 30 days.

None of this is required — we will work with whatever you have. It just tightens the estimate.

A rough square footage, or even just the room names.

Whether you are replacing an existing floor, and what it is. Carpet, tile and glued-down vinyl each remove differently and that changes labour.

A photo or two of the space, especially any transitions, stairs or damage you already know about.

Your rough timing. It does not have to be firm — it just tells us where you sit in the schedule, which usually runs one to three weeks out and books up fastest in spring and fall.
