Screen-and-recoat and full sand programs for gym, studio and multi-purpose court floors.
Scheduled maintenance recoats between seasons, or a full sand-down and refinish once traction and court lines have worn through — sized to your facility's actual usage calendar.
About This Service
Most gym and studio floors need a screen-and-recoat well before they need a full sand — a light abrasion pass and a fresh topcoat restores traction and shine at a fraction of the cost and downtime of sanding to bare wood. We'll tell you honestly which one your floor actually needs during the walk-through, not just quote the bigger job.
Traction matters more on a gym floor than almost any other commercial surface. We track finish sheen and reapply on a schedule that keeps slip resistance where it needs to be, and we coordinate game-line repainting around your season calendar so lines are dry and playable before the first practice.

- Screen & recoat or full dust-contained sanding

- Traction-appropriate finish sheen recommendation
Gym Floor Sanding & Recoat Questions, Answered
If the finish has worn through in high-traffic lanes but the wood itself isn't deeply scratched or gouged, a screen-and-recoat restores traction and shine at a fraction of full-sand cost. We'll tell you which applies during the site walk.
It depends on usage hours, but most single-sport gyms run on a 1–3 year recoat cycle; multi-purpose or high-use facilities often need it closer to annually. We'll recommend a realistic interval based on what we see on your floor.
It should improve it — a worn, glazed finish is often less predictable underfoot than a fresh coat at the right sheen. We use finish products suited to athletic traction, not a generic residential topcoat.
